Florida Approves $117.6 Billion State Budget

TALLAHASSEE, Florida (FLAN 35) — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the state’s $117.6 billion budget for fiscal year 2026-27 in June.

The budget includes spending for education, infrastructure, public safety, environmental programs and other state priorities.

DeSantis vetoed approximately $810 million in spending before signing the measure.

The budget represents the final state spending plan of DeSantis’ second term as governor.

State officials said the spending plan continues Florida’s focus on reducing state spending while maintaining investments in major public programs.

The budget will guide state spending during the fiscal year beginning July 1.

For Florida residents, the budget affects state agencies, schools, infrastructure projects, public safety programs and numerous other government services.

The spending plan also provides a snapshot of the state’s priorities heading into the second half of 2026.
